Twenty-four racing, performance cruising and cruising yachts took to the seas off the Dominican Republic’s Casa de Campo Marina to compete in the 6th annual Ciclon Cup, held July 27 to 28. After two days of racing, Pepe Rodriguez’ Celtic V won the Racing Class, Ramon Prieto’s Cecile topped the Performance Cruising Class, and Hector Duval’s Santa Barbara aced the Cruising Class.
Sunny skies and breezy winds made for perfect racing. The course, which also saw Formula Windsurfing Classes and Multihulls compete, launched off for a route that traced around Catalina Island and finished just off Casa de Campo Marina. The Awards Ceremony took place at the elegant Plaza Portofino.
Ciclon Energy Drink sponsored this year’s regatta officially. Other sponsors include Casa de Campo Resort and Marina, Audi, Santa Clara water, Lopez de Haro bank and Tropigas-Sunix.
