Zhik’s design team developed their lightweight breathable waterproof Aroshell smock for the crews of Dongfeng Race Team and AkzoNobel in the last Volvo Ocean Race. The goal was to provide ‘light’ protection for the warmer legs of the race. No one predicted how this gear would help sailors safely get back out on the water. Referring specifically to the compatible adaptive hood and face visor use during the global pandemic.
“Sailing schools, charter organizations, instructors and coaches around the globe are all now looking at adapting how they work as the lockdown restrictions are starting to be eased in many countries.
