Vuelta a Culebra 2025: A Caribbean Classic Reaches New Heights
Over Memorial Day weekend, the Vuelta a Culebra 2025 regatta turned the tranquil island of Culebra into a vibrant celebration of sailing and community. With 37 boats from across the Caribbean, spirited races, and cultural festivities ashore, the event delivered an unforgettable Memorial Day weekend for racers and spectators alike.

Culebra, Puerto Rico — Over Memorial Day weekend, the quiet island of Culebra transformed into a vibrant hub of sailboats, sea breeze, and celebration, as Vuelta a Culebra 2025 welcomed 37 participating vessels from across Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. With steady trade winds, clear skies, and an infectious community spirit, the event delivered what every sailor craves: fair racing, great camaraderie, and unforgettable shoreside memories.
Organized by Sagramoso Yachting in collaboration with Commodore Enid Marie Reyes and supported by the Municipality of Culebra, this year’s Vuelta offered a mix of spirited racing and cultural immersion. Crews competed in three classes—Cruising, Performance Cruisers, and Multihulls—with tight starts, tactical mark roundings, and spectacular finishes that drew cheers from spectators lining the shore. Many gathered near the starting line to watch the fleet set off, creating a thrilling atmosphere charged with excitement.
Beyond the racecourse, the Coral Pier (Muelle de Coral) buzzed with energy. Live music, local cuisine, and family-friendly activities created a true maritime festival atmosphere. A special highlight was Friday’s youth outreach initiative: local teens from Kids 4 Green Culebra Inc. were welcomed aboard an AXOPAR vessel for a hands-on lesson in navigation, marine safety, and onboard technology.
“This event is about more than racing. It’s about community, culture, and inspiring the next generation to connect with the sea,” said Commodore Enid Marie Reyes, who spearheaded the event’s organization.

Key to the event’s flawless execution were vessels from AXOPAR and Grand Soleil, both distributed by Sagramoso Yachting across Puerto Rico and the U.S. and British Virgin Islands. AXOPAR models served as the official Race Committee boats and water taxis, while Grand Soleil sailboats stood out for their performance and elegance on the water.
The weekend culminated with a lively awards ceremony—streamed live by Adrenalina Náutica—celebrating not only the winners but the spirit of every sailor who took part.
