The Antilles School Sailing Team Needs Your Help!

The team had some impressive results in 2005 and look to
continue on their winning streak however, they need to raise some money. The Antilles School Sailing Team, are
selling 2006 calendars to raise funds for stateside competitions in the Spring..

Since taking 2nd place at the 2005 High School Team Racing National
Championship, members of the Antilles School Sailing Team have traveled around
the globe to compete in several prestigious regattas.

Cy Thompson and Thomas Barrows both competed at MidWinters
East, taking 1st and 2nd respectively. 
Cy went on to place 6th at the Youth Worlds in
Korea. Thomas finished a spectacular 1st place
at the US Youth Championships, qualifying him for the O’Day
Trophy, where he again placed an outstanding 3rd place against the best adults
in the US.

Thomas then took 1st place at the VI Laser championships in
September on St. Croix.

Antilles sailors also competed in the Smyth, in
Newport, California. Thomas took 2nd place at the in Lasers,
and Taylor Canfield and Nate Rosenberg took 2nd in the Club 420.

Later in the Fall, Nate Rosenberg, Taylor
Canfield, Thomas Barrows, and Cy Thompson traveled to
Newport, RI
for the World Team Racing Championships. 
Against the best in the world, the young Virgin Islanders took an
amazing 9th place.

A younger contingent of Antilles sailors traveled to
Switzerland to
represent the VI at the Optimist World Championships. Mimi Roller, Tyler Rice, Alex Coyle, and
Billy Gibbons raced courageously in a very large fleet of competitors. And finally, Hugo Roller competed in the
Laser 4.7 World Championship, in Rhode
Island.

On top of this, the team is highly favored to win the high school team
racing championship this year and have a good shot at the fleet racing championship
also.
