Fort Lauderdale, FL – August 27th, 2012 – International Crew Training (ICT) is set to begin operations starting September 1, 2012 after taking over International Yacht Training Fort Lauderdale’s STCW and MCA training programs. This new venture will offer the best possible education, supported by top notch facility and a staff with over 200 years of combined experience in the marine training industry – all set in beautiful Fort Lauderdale, the yachting capital of the country.
“This was a unique opportunity to take control of an established, well-respected company, with proven training methods, at an ideal location in Florida. And where there was room for improvement, we had the flexibility and resources to ensure we were offering only the best curriculum to our students,” explained CEO Mike French. “No expenses were spared when it came to providing the finest teaching materials, including the latest state-of-the-art simulator technology.”
To further add value to every student’s education, ICT has partnered with the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) to offer a full range of certified courses that provide the advanced skills that are in demand in today’s global yachting community. For years, the RYA has been recognized as the leader in professional yacht training, and this unique partnership affords students the opportunity to get the best of both worlds – training at a world-class facility, supported and endorsed by one of the most recognizable names in the industry.
Students attending ICT will also benefit from a variety of new features designed to help aid them in advancing their careers, including formalizing a unique partnership with CREW.ICT, a crew placement agency that will work with graduates and employers to help match candidates with the right positions on yachts. As students return for continuing education to help advance their careers, this convenient service will greatly benefit them, allowing access to top-level decision makers on yachts from around the world.
“We’ve designed our school to get students trained and qualified to take the next step in their careers, and then we match their skill set with the best job opening we can find,” added Mr. French. “We have the best training, combined with dedicated and skilled instructors and we’re located close to the waterfront of Ft. Lauderdale – with plenty of yacht crews, jobs and opportunities nearby.”
With student pass rates that are among the highest in the industry, combined with a helpful and knowl- edgeable staff that is invested in the advancing the careers of their students, ICT is the ideal choice for those looking to develop their yacht training education from a proven network of industry professionals with a track record of success.
