Charlie Sutton Named Director of Operations for its Colonna Down River Rapid Response Division

Colonna’s Shipyard, Inc. of Norfolk, Virginia is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Charlie Sutton as Director of Operations for its Colonna Down River Division, a rapid response ship repair service provided to vessels wherever the customer needs us.

Mr. Sutton is a Norfolk native and longtime waterfront veteran having recently worked as Program Manager at Earl Industries. Charlie brings his extensive leadership experience in project management and contract administration to Colonna’s Shipyard along with a vast knowledge of marine repair experience on all types of commercial and military vessels.

Our teams are equipped with portable equipment trailers and can be dispatched on short notice to the vessel location or as riding crew for port-to-port vessel repairs. Planned maintenance availabilities are offered at the vessel location for scheduled repairs, ship alterations, and habitability modifications, including structural and mechanical service. Though based in Norfolk, Colonna Down River Division is mobile and can provide ship repair at any terminal or as a riding crew from any port location.

Since 1875, Colonna’s Shipyard continues to provide quality ship repair service for all vessel types in drydock up to 16,000 tons and off site directly to the vessel location.
