Wharf Boat & Yacht Show (WBYS)
to be held May 2-5, 2013, in Orange Beach, Ala.

Boasting one of the most diverse in-water and land displays of boats, yachts and marine business along the central Gulf Coast, the Wharf Boat Show is expected to attract record crowds.

According to CGMTA President John Fitzgerald, who is also the president of Saunders Yachtworks, collaborating with the Wharf Boat & Yacht Show is a key element to achieving the goals of the association.

“We know from experience that hosting an in-water boat show is a huge draw for recreational boaters,” he said. “We are excited about the dates the new management company has chosen for the show, and now, they have created a planning committee that includes CGMTA members. We are partners in the planning and execution, ensuring that the show will be a great experience for our customers.”

Coastal Marina Management Partner Scott Burt said this agreement will include CGMTA member discounts, promotion commitment and revenue sharing.

“Our goal is for both organizations to work together to develop the WBYS as a major regional annual boat and yacht show,” he said. “We also want to promote the Wharf Entertainment Complex and the central Gulf Coast as a boating destination. The CGMTA members have a great investment in this area and are natural partners.”

The Wharf Boat and Yacht Show will be under the management of the Wharf Entertainment Properties and Coastal Marina Management.

CGMTA is a non-profit organization created to represent the recreational marine industry by promoting the strength of the regional boating environment; advocating on issues that affect the boating community; and providing networking opportunities for its members.
