Saunders Yachtworks has added one more item to its portfolio of marine-related service: long-term dry storage.
According to Saunders CEO John Fitzgerald, starting November 1, customers will be able to store their boats for an extended period of time in a newly constructed dry storage yard at the company’s primary location in Gulf Shores, Ala.
“We have seen an increase in 30- to 50-foot boats along the Alabama Gulf Coast recently and corresponding need for out-of-water storage,” Fitzgerald said. “Our new yard will provide a safe, secure and convenient place to store boats on the hard during time like hurricane season and the winter months.
“Access to the Intracoastal Waterway and high elevation allow us to offer an easy storage solution with the convenience of scheduling additional boatyard services as the boats come in and out of the water,” Fitzgerald said.
The 42,000-square-foot storage yard will accommodate power and sail vessels up to 50 feet inside a fenced perimeter with security lighting and power hook-ups. Customers will have the option to dry dock or leave the boats trailered.
