The Antigua and Barbuda Marine Association (ABMA) has been informed by the Antigua and Barbuda Department of Customs and Excise that it is now testing SailClear as the new customs clearing software into Antigua and Barbuda.
Sailclear is an online system to clear in and out of port and is already being used across most of the Eastern Caribbean as well as the Turks and Caicos, Bermuda, Curacao and the Dominican Republic.
With Antigua now adopting this system, it will make the process of clearing in and out of Antigua faster for those boats cruising around the region and moving from island to island.
“We are requesting agents and individuals clearing in and out of Antigua test SailClear and let us know of any concerns. This is to enable us to iron out the wrinkles before going live with the new system prior to the start of the season,” said head of customs, Mr. Raju Boddu.
The system is operated by CCLEC (Caribbean Customs Law Enforcement Council).
Comments about the system should be sent send to Mr. Randy Baltimore, at: [email protected] with copies going to: [email protected] and [email protected].
