Fuel and a whole lot more is now available at the new 220-square foot fuel dock building at IGY’s American Yacht Harbor (AYH) marina, located in Red Hook, St. Thomas, in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The road to this renovation started in September 2017 when Hurricane Irma damaged the familiar facility at the end of ‘A’ dock. Marina owners decided to demolish the building and rebuild it bigger and better. Inside, boaters can now buy beverages, beer, wine, water, snacks and IGY-branded clothing, hats, cozies and other merchandise while fueling up for a day on the sea.
“Marina manager, Gary Hodge, has been with AYH for 31 years and he and his dock staff are always on the dock ready to help with fueling and to make a visit or stay at AYH a more memorable experience,” says Elizabeth DiDomenico, AYH general manager. What’s more, “this year we will have eleven restaurants in which visitors can dine, along with our many shopping and entertainment options.”
AYH features 123 total slips, including 4 megayacht berths, for vessels up to 120’ LOA. Services and amenities include dockside power and water, high-speed fuel pumps, waste disposal, private shower facilities and Wi-Fi. www.igymarinas.com/marinas/american-yacht-harbor
