Mocka Jumbies and Rum...

For several years we have all been hearing about amazing numbers of blue marlin being released by boats visiting the fabulous Marina Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic during the February to May season.

In this year’s recent 2013 blue marlin season, a total of 621 blues were released by boats fishing out of Marina Casa de Campo and top single day catch belonged to Caroline releasing 11 blues in a single day on April 24th. Numbers such as these have convinced us that it is time to organize a tournament with all the usual ingredients that have characterized our events at other locations.

Because it will be our first time at this venue, we are going to run a two day tournament. Fishing days will be Saturday March 22nd and Sunday March 23rd. However, we will have Official Observers, attractive Calcuttas, great parties, plus elegant trophies and prizes for the winners.

Those of you who have visited Casa de Campo in the past know about the great fishing and the great facility, but for those of you who have not visited the area, please visit www.marinacasadecampo.com.do. The marina offers a full array of services including a shipyard and dry dock. There are 370 slips that can accommodate boats from 30’ to 250’, nearby golf courses, a number of restaurants, banks, supermarket, and its own Yacht Club where anglers can gather after fishing for a cocktail and talk about the day’s fishing. Top it all off with a great friendly staff and you have the makings of an awesome fishing experience.
