Big news sometimes comes in small packages. Case in point, Mercury Marine, the world’s leading manufacturer of recreational marine propulsion engines, has entered into a strategic supply agreement with BRP to be the supplier of choice for Canadian-headquartered BRP-owned boat brands Alumacraft, Manitou and Telwater. Alumacraft builds 10- to 20-foot long aluminum fishing boats, Manitou makes pontoon boats up to 27-foot LOA, and Telwater is Australia’s largest manufacturer of aluminum boat and trailer packages. Correspondingly BRP has discontinued the production of E-TEC and E-TEC G2 engines.
“For boaters in the Caribbean, this means that anyone with Alumacraft, Manitou or the Telwater brands will now have the opportunity to enjoy award-winning four-stroke outboard engines from Mercury,” says Lee Gordon, director of global public relations, communications and media relations for the Brunswick Corporation, headquartered in Fond Du Lac, WI, USA. “We have had long relationships with those boat builders in the past, but we are looking forward to engaging in consumers in the Caribbean who have not had the opportunity to experience Mercury to show them the advantage of our world-class portfolio of outboards from 2.5 HP to our new 450R outboard. That would be a nice engine to cruise around the Caribbean and be the envy of all of your friends!” www.mercurymarine.com
