Port Louis Grenada and the Grenada Sailing Festival have announced that Port Louis will be the new title sponsor of the Grenada Sailing Festival. As title sponsor, Port Louis Grenada will make a significant contribution to the festival over the next three years.

Additionally, Port Louis representatives say their project will also provide the needed infrastructure for the successful staging and growth of the event. The Port Louis Marina will be able to provide berthing facilities for over 300 boats and the organizers say this will enhance the International Keelboat event.

Grenada Sailing Festival chairman, Mr. Jimmy Bristol expressed his delight in having Port Louis Grenada as the New Title Sponsor and he looks forward to a successful partnership.

Resident Director for the de Savary group, Richard Hallam, said “the Port Louis sponsorship is vital in many areas. Not only will we be able to accommodate and provide services for more yachts, but we will be able to attract a higher standard and quality of yachts through our international marketing effort. What is also very important is that the profile of this event will be raised significantly now that Peter de Savary’s name is associated with it. I am excited that we have once again combined the remarkable beauty and warmth of Grenada with the international reputation of Mr. Peter de Savary and his love for sailing.”

The project also involves revitalization of the southern end of the lagoon area, including the reclamation and renovation of the seafront, as well as the proposed revitalization and augmentation of Pandy Beach to complement that of Grand Anse including water sports, beach extension, diving and other elements.  The project is expected to provide employment for 500 to 800 people.
