September 25 – 26: Curacao Sunfish Championship.

Some 25 sailors are expected to compete in this annual event, held in Spanish Water. “There will be 9 short races of approximately 30 minutes each divided over the two days,” says Jürgen Schneider, organizer, 2020 National Champion and six-time titleholder. “The winner will be the Curaçao Champion. Youth will be scored separately to determine the Curaçao Youth Champion.” Curacao is a hot spot of Sunfish sailing, having hosted the World Championships twice (1991 and 2011) with former resident, Cor van Aanholt, earning Silver, Gold and Bronze in 1979, 1980 and 1981, respectively.
