Budget Marine to Support the 2019 Optimist World Championships

Budget Marine to sponsor Optimist World Championships, world’s largest youth sailing competition, will be held from July 6 to 16 in Antigua and Barbuda.

The Optimist World Championships, the world’s largest youth sailing competition, will be held from July 6 to 16 in Antigua and Barbuda. Budget Marine, known as the Caribbean’s leading chandlery with three locations in Antigua, will be there to support as co-sponsor of the Awards & Prize giving Ceremony.

‘This year is special as Antigua and Barbuda are ready to set a new world record for the number of countries registered in a single class regatta as we host 266 sailors from 64 countries,’ says Paola Vittoria, head of the 2019 Optimist World Championship Organizing Committee. “Setting up such a big event is not an easy job. Therefore, we are delighted to announce that Budget Marine has joined the event as the latest supporter.”

Louisa Norris, Budget Marine Antigua’s general manager, adds, “We are excited to be involved with Antigua and Barbuda’s record-breaking Optimist World Championship and are keen to motivate young sailors to be part of both the fun events and the serious maritime business.”

Budget Marine is also assisting the event achieve its Clean Regatta goal by providing Green Volunteers with dedicated shirts.
