Grenada Bluewater Sailing Launches Private Catamaran Training
Whether you’ve just purchased a catamaran and need guidance or want to optimize your vessel for comfort and safety, Grenada Bluewater Sailing now offers private catamaran training with RYA-certified instructors. The St. George’s-based sailing school provides hands-on coaching aboard your own catamaran or a charter yacht, ensuring a tailored learning experience.
Meeting the Growing Demand for Catamaran Training
“The rise of charter catamarans in the region over the last decade has increased inquiries for catamaran-focused training,” says Polly Charles, marketing and communications manager at Grenada Bluewater Sailing. “This prompted us to offer private tuition for charter guests, helping novice skippers gain the confidence to bareboat charter in the region with an experienced local instructor aboard. We’ve also seen a surge in catamaran ownership, with many new owners transitioning from monohulls and seeking specialized training.”
Customized Training Options
Students can choose between two flexible training options:
- Option 1: Day Sailing Around Grenada – An RYA-certified instructor boards your catamaran daily from 9 a.m.to provide personalized coaching while sailing the waters of Grenada.
- Option 2: Liveaboard Sailing in the Grenadines – The instructor stays onboard for immersive training while sailing through the Grenadines islands, offering real-world experience in multi-day cruising.
Tailored Tuition & Certification
The cost of training varies based on the number of days, students, instructor accommodation (liveaboard or shore-based), and specific training needs. RYA certification is also available for those seeking formal qualifications.
