New Solar Power Project at IGY Yacht Haven Grande St. Thomas
Island Global Yachting (IGY) has launched a large-scale solar power project at Yacht Haven Grande in St. Thomas, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and supporting sustainability.
Island Global Yachting (IGY) has taken a major step toward sustainability with the launch of a large-scale solar power generation project at Yacht Haven Grande in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
This initiative, announced in September 2024, is a collaboration between IGY and ProSolar Caribbean, a leading solar energy provider in the region. The project features a rooftop photovoltaic array designed to supply clean, renewable energy to the mixed-use marina property.
Reducing Environmental Impact
The IGY solar power project will:
- Generate renewable energy for Yacht Haven Grande
- Reduce reliance on fossil fuels
- Lower the marina’s carbon footprint
- Ease demand on the local utility grid, freeing up power for the surrounding community
