St. Augustine’s ‘Fireworks Over the Matanzas’ frames the Castillo de San Marcos and the Bridge of Lions, with a free concert in the plaza beforehand. Where to watch: From the water: the Bridge of Lions closes to vehicles and boats after its 7:30 pm opening, so be on the side you want to watch from before then; boats gather in Matanzas Bay outside the standing 500-yard barge zone. Ashore: the Bayfront, Plaza de la Constitución (concert), and the Castillo grounds; part of the seawall near the municipal marina was a construction zone in 2026.
