Savannah New Year’s Eve Fireworks (River Street)

Savannah counts down on River Street to a short midnight fireworks show from a barge on the river, drawing tens of thousands. The display usually goes up at midnight. Where to watch: From the water: the barge moves into position in front of the Convention Center around 11:15–11:30 pm; this is the main ship channel, so keep clear and follow Coast Guard and police on scene. Ashore: River Street from Plant Riverside to Eastern Wharf Park, best in the central section.
