November 17–22, 2026
More than $100,000 in cash and prizes is on the line as anglers head offshore from Club Náutico de San Juan, Puerto Rico, for three days of billfishing in this 73rd annual event. A $50,000 bonus goes to the first boat to release 10 billfish. Competition is on 30-pound line under IGFA rules, with separate sonar and non-sonar divisions and both inboard and outboard boats eligible. This year there’s the addition of a Caribbean-wide twist: teams can also compete for the Reciprocity Perpetual Cup, linking San Juan with the Torneo Aguja Azul in the Dominican Republic and North Drop Open in the British Virgin Islands. Atlantic blue marlin releases earn points toward the Cup. The El Morro Shoot Out kicks off the fishing, with waters stretching from near Cabo San Juan west to Vega Baja and no northern limit.
