Caribbean Multihull Challenge
The Caribbean Multihull Challenge is an annual regatta dedicated exclusively to multihull racing, held in the waters off Simpson Bay, St. Maarten. Since its launch in 2020, the event has quickly established itself as one of the premier multihull regattas in the Caribbean, attracting a diverse fleet that ranges from high-performance racing trimarans and foiling catamarans to cruising multihulls.
Organized by the Sint Maarten Yacht Club in partnership with the St. Maarten Tourism Bureau, the regatta typically features several days of competitive racing combined with a lively social program ashore. Courses are designed to showcase the speed and versatility of modern multihulls while taking advantage of the reliable trade winds and open waters surrounding the island.
In addition to the racing divisions, the event welcomes cruising multihulls and charter boats, making it an inclusive gathering for owners, sailors, and enthusiasts who share a passion for multihull sailing. Shoreside events, prize givings, and community gatherings help create a festive atmosphere that reflects the vibrant sailing culture of St. Maarten.
The Caribbean Multihull Challenge continues to grow each year, reinforcing St. Maarten’s reputation as one of the Caribbean’s leading sailing destinations.
