Old Town Alexandria’s waterfront holiday parade sends a large fleet of lit boats down a mile of the Potomac shoreline, paired with an afternoon dockside festival and the city’s Scottish Christmas Walk the same weekend. It is the Washington-area’s best-attended boat parade and an easy cruise from the upper Chesapeake.
