To starboard the settee & forward facing nav. station that slides aft to convert to create a generous sofa or berth.

Dufour took a fresh approach to the galley, positioning it forward of the salon table and split it into two, allowing for ample counter top space, a double drawer fridge to starboard and a top load freezer to port along side the 3 burner gimballed stove/ oven with a cover, sink & ample storage throughout including the clever wine cellar under the salon floor for.

Forward is the master cabin with the modified queen sized island berth, separate head and shower stalls and aft are the two generous guest cabins to port and starboard. Each with its own ensuite but port is larger with a separate shower.

‘Avontuur’ has never been chartered, was recently commissioned for the season with a fresh bottom job in November 2026 and splashed in Grenada. She is currently making her way north up the Caribbean chain en-route to the BVI. Contact us today to arrange a showing. We should have a new photo set when the vessel reaches the BVI some time in December.

Accommodation

Step aboard ‘Avontuur’ across the electric drop-down transom with teak decking, which lowers at the push of a button to form a wide, easy boarding and swim platform. The cockpit opens up in front of you, with twin helms, teak bench seating, a large table with grab rails, folding leafs and an integrated fridge. The cockpit BBQ is just aft under the center helm seating and paired with the wet bar with hot/cold water in the cockpit table, this makes for a perfect set up for cooking and entertaining without the need to go below to the galley. There is also a large wet locker perfect for storing snorkle gear! (A few sets included in the sale!) A quick stroll forward along the wide sidedecks takes you to the foredeck and storage compartment (Garage) forward of the forward cabin.

Back in the cockpit, the companionway leads down into a bright, open salon. Large hull windows and skylight hatches flood the interior with natural light and draw a nice breeze through the boat, while air conditioning throughout and well-placed lighting keep every space comfortable and cool on the hook or at the marina. To starboard is an innovative convertible Nav. station on a sliding track allowing a full-length settee or a forward facing Nav station. To starboard is a generous C-shaped settee with retractable table to make large berth and a the centerline seat on a slidable track with a backrest that pops up for dinner service, or the seat can be left as a floating bench and slid on a track out of the way under the table.

Dufour took a fresh approach with the galley, splitting it in two and placing it forward of the salon settee. A double-drawer fridge sits to starboard and a top-load freezer to port, alongside a gimbaled 3-burner stove and oven, a sink, ample countertop space and storage throughout. Forward is the master cabin, with ample storage via the large closets and numerous cabinets on both sides of the bed, along with huge drawers under the bed. Her modified queen island berth and separate head and shower stalls make for a spacious and comfortable owners suite. Aft, two generous guest cabins sit to port and starboard, each with its own ensuite, and the port head is larger with a separate shower. Throughout the boat, the fit and finish reflect the quality of the Grand Large line, with a spacious, airy feel that suits both extended cruising and weeks aboard.

Owners’ Comments and Boat History

Following commissioning, Avontuur was sailed by her original owner in Newport, Rhode Island, and wintered in Florida. Purchased by her current owners in 2022, she was subsequently sailed to St. Thomas, USVI, and onward to Grenada.

During their ownership, Avontuur has benefited from significant upgrades, including improved electrical and cruising systems, a custom solar arch with dinghy davits, and new canvas. She has cruised extensively throughout the Caribbean, from Grenada to the US Virgin Islands, during the November–May sailing seasons.

Each June, she returned to Spice Island Marina in Grenada for annual maintenance, repairs, and dry storage beneath a custom Sunbrella cover. During storage, marina personnel conducted monthly inspections for moisture and monitored the solar charging system to maintain the battery banks.

After four years of Caribbean cruising, her owners are ready to pass Avontuur on to her next custodians. She is offered with an extensive inventory of linens, galley equipment, tools, spare parts, and cruising accessories, making her well prepared for her next adventure.
