‘Last Chance’ is a 2016 Jeanneau 58 that delivers on everything the model promises: a bluewater-capable yacht that a couple or a full crew can sail with confidence. She is equipped with the 6’10” shoal draft option. Fully loaded with a new watermaker, Onan genset, AC, bow thruster, new sound system, Raymarine nav. electronics suite and is in excellent condition.
On deck, she sails far more easily than her size suggests. Every line leads aft to the twin helms, and the Harken electric rewind winches make for effortless trimming of the sails at the touch of a button. An excellent condition in-mast furling mainsail and furling genoa make for simple setting & reefing under way. The weight is concentrated amidships for a steady motion at sea, and the bow thruster takes the stress out of tight marinas.
Below, the layout suits family, guests and/or charter. Plenty of head room at 6’7″ and interior design by Italian designer Vittorio Garroni. His touch shows in the light oak joinery with dark oak cabinsole, leather seating and stainless steel detailing. A leather sofa and dinette sit to starboard, with the well equipped L-shapped galley and bench seating to port and a full nav station opposite. The galley is laid out with all appliances, 200L of refridgeration, 100L of freezer space and storage for extended passages. The master stateroom is forward with an island berth, plenty of storage and ensuite head. Two identical aft cabins have split berths that are convertable to generious berths, and each cabin has its own ensuite head. A skipper/crew cabin with bunk berths is located in the V-berth is accessed through its own deck hatch and equipped with its own dedicated ensuite head storage and AC vents as well.
A 150hp Volvo Penta D3 holds ~8 knots at under 2,250 RPM allowing for a ~300NM range inder power and has a 4 blade Flexofold prop for efficent sailing when not under power. A diesel generator, reverse-cycle A/C units, a new watermaker and a full Raymarine suite with radar, FLIR and autopilot support extended offshore cruising. Owner’s Comments and Boat History
Last Chance was launched in 2016 and equipped with both the Electronic Ocean and Excellence packages, providing an extensive specification for comfortable long-range cruising.
Previously based in Annapolis, Maryland, this US-documented vessel cruised extensively throughout New England and the Chesapeake Bay. Her current owner purchased her in July 2026 following a pre-purchase survey at Bert Jabin Yacht Yard in Annapolis.
During the survey, the hull was inspected out of the water, with no osmotic blistering or elevated moisture readings reported. The vessel was subsequently sea trialed under both power and sail.
Following the purchase, the owner completed recommended maintenance and invested in several major upgrades, including new antifouling bottom paint ($7,000), a Spectra Catalina watermaker ($20,000), an upgraded Fusion and JL Audio stereo system ($10,000), and a new tender ($5,000), all in 2026.
Last Chance is currently berthed in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Owner’s Comments
Some boats impress you at the dock, some impress you offshore; this one is the best of both worlds! She handles any water condition with ease. Comfortable and efficient offshore and very accommodating at anchor or on the dock.
Had an amazing sail down to Puerto Rico from the East Coast but sadly, it turns out that my wife is not a huge fan of sailing and the plans have changed.
After investing significantly in her, including a new $20k watermaker, a new dinghy, a top-of-the-line Fusion stereo with a JL Audio sound system ($10k), and a fresh bottom job, her new owner gets to enjoy all of it and step aboard a well-equipped, bluewater-ready yacht.
