Sail into History: ARC 2025 Marks 40th Edition of the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers

The year 2025 marks the 40th edition of the ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers), one of the world’s most iconic ocean sailing events. On November 23, 2025, over 140 yachts (as of March 1) will set sail from Las Palmas de Gran Canariato Rodney Bay Marina in Saint Lucia, covering a distance of approximately 2,700 nautical miles across the Atlantic.

Since its inception in 1986, more than 7,890 yachts and 30,000 sailors have taken part in the ARC, embracing its spirit of camaraderie, safety, and adventure. This year, the World Cruising Club is offering special incentives for the milestone year. All yachts under 40 feet receive two free crew entries (valued at US $440.50), and boats or skippers who sailed in the first ARC receive four free crew places (valued at US $880).

Entry fees for ARC 2025 start at US $1,384 for boats up to 33’9”, with the average yacht paying around US $2,264. Multihulls incur an additional fee of US $503, and there’s a crew fee of US $220 per person over 16.

The rally package includes a comprehensive preparation handbook, two weeks of events in Las Palmas, 24/7 tracking and support, a warm welcome in Saint Lucia, and a festive prize-giving ceremony.

Founded by renowned sailor Jimmy Cornell, the ARC was designed to give cruisers a reason to set sail—and to do so safely. Four decades later, it remains the gold standard for ocean crossings.
