The blessing closes Delcambre’s August shrimp festival: a Fishermen’s Mass, then the priest blesses the boats moored on the canal. Where to watch: The fleet ties up on the waterway outside the Shrimp Festival Building and the congregation walks out from the Fishermen’s Mass to bless the boats; stand along the bank by the festival building.
