St. Petersburg’s main Independence Day celebration fires off the St. Pete Pier over Tampa Bay, visible along the whole downtown waterfront. The display usually goes up at about 9:00 pm. Where to watch: From the water: the show is off the Pier on open Tampa Bay, so boats watch from the bay outside the standing 500-yard zone around the launch; no event-specific boater rules were found. Ashore: the Pier, Bayshore Drive, Straub Park and Vinoy Park.
