The closing night of the St. John Celebration – after the July 4 parade through Cruz Bay – ends with fireworks over Cruz Bay Harbor. The display usually goes up at 9:00 pm. Where to watch: From the water: Cruz Bay is small and its harbour is a busy ferry channel, so most boats watch from just outside – the National Park mooring areas nearby or standing off the bay entrance; the display is over the harbour itself. Ashore: the Cruz Bay waterfront and Frank Powell Park area, after the 11 am parade. No published Coast Guard safety zone found.
