One hundred eighteen solo sailors set off from Saint-Malo, France, racing 3,543 nautical miles across the Atlantic to Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe, in one of ocean racing’s biggest events. The fleet spans top professionals and amateurs, with the fastest multihulls expected to reach Guadeloupe about a week later and other classes following over the next several weeks. In Guadeloupe, spectators can welcome skippers ashore at the Mémorial ACTe arrival village in Pointe-à-Pitre, with concerts, live entertainment, exhibits and food adding to the shoreside festivities. In Basse-Terre, the Village de la Bouée puts spectators close to the action as competitors round Guadeloupe before racing to the finish, while Marina Bas-du-Fort hosts an educational village. Admission to the main arrival village is free.
