The Freedom 45CC is a well-regarded center cockpit sailboat, praised for its innovative design and comfortable cruising capabilities. Its spacious interior, featuring two staterooms and two heads, offers ample room for extended voyages. The free-standing carbon fiber mast contributes to a clean deck layout and efficient sailing performance. Owners appreciate the vessel’s balance between speed and comfort, making it suitable for both leisurely cruises and more spirited sailing.
This eye-catching yacht with a black hull and teak decks offers simple and efficient sailing. The yacht has an innovative design by the late Gary Mull with a free-standing, carbon fiber mast, and no stays/minimal rigging, creating a clear, safe deck. The balsa-cored-hull has advantages of rigidity, thermal and acoustic insultation and makes this vessel much lighter (22,000 pounds) than others of the same size, adding performance and speed. With minimal rigging, there are fewer components that can fail and less maintenance costs. The large main sail can be positioned at 90 degrees, greatly increasing downwind speed. This boat is easy to sail with a self-tacking jib, one electric and one manual winch.
The interior design offers a large Captain’s Cabin with a queen bed, plenty of storage including drawers and hanging closet, private head with sink and separate shower stall. The galley boasts a large, deep stainless country sink with pull-down faucet with stream and spray, a second, filtered drinking water tap and hand pump faucet, linked to two water tanks so you never run out of fresh water. The galley offers a built-in microwave, a gimbled three-burner stove and oven, a recently refurbished top-loading refrigerator/freezer and dry goods storage space. This yacht features a second freezer next to the navigation station for long term food storage. Power is provided by a generator (6206 hrs.), two new house batteries (2022) and solar panels.
The bright salon with beautiful real-wood cabinetry and floors has great airflow from two hatches and four portals and boasts a double-door wine cabinet, stereo (saloon, master and cockpit speakers), and television with comfortable settees on both sides. The 3×4 table flips open for dining for six or more people and provides extensive storage underneath. A major bonus is the central vacuum system that makes keeping the salon and cockpit clean a breeze. The heating and air conditioning keep the entire interior at a comfortable temperature no matter what the weather.
The nearby navigation station has a swing out chair and working space to work on your laptop and view paper or electronic charts and weather maps. There is easy access to the engine and generator underneath the cockpit.
The V-berth provides your guests with a comfortable full-size bed, storage drawers and hanging closet with adjacent wet head with shower and curtain.
The comfortable cockpit has a table that flips out to enjoy outdoor dining. The full cockpit enclosure (2023) keeps you warm in any weather and has panels that zip out for open air sailing. Sip cocktails and enjoy snacks when anchored and stay dry and protected during rain.
Everyone will enjoy swimming from the Sugar Scoop platform that provides an outdoor shower to clean people, boat parts, fishing gear, and water toys. The mounted grill makes cooking your fresh catch easy and convenient.
