Tampa’s downtown Independence Day show, renamed Liberty by the Bay in 2026, pairs a drone show with fireworks over the river and channel. Where to watch: From the water: earlier ‘Boom by the Bay’ editions fired from barges at several points along the downtown waterfront, so the river and Garrison Channel are closed near each barge; stay outside the standing 500-yard barge zone. Ashore: Julian B. Lane Park and the Tampa Riverwalk.
