St. Thomas International Regatta

The St. Thomas International Regatta is one of the Caribbean’s longest-running and most respected sailing events, attracting top racing yachts and international crews to the waters of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands each spring. Hosted by the St. Thomas Yacht Club, the regatta is known for its competitive racing, steady trade winds, and scenic courses through the islands of the USVI.

Founded in 1974, the event typically features three days of racing, with courses designed to challenge both professional sailors and Corinthian crews. Fleets are divided into multiple classes including performance racing yachts, cruising boats, and multihulls. Courses often include windward-leeward racing as well as island routes that pass through some of the most beautiful sailing waters in the Caribbean.

Widely regarded as one of the premier Caribbean sailing regattas, the St. Thomas International Regatta combines world-class racing conditions with a welcoming island atmosphere. Shoreside events, awards ceremonies, and social gatherings at the yacht club and around the island make it a highlight of the Caribbean racing season for sailors and spectators alike.
