A canal parade through Punta Gorda Isles held every year on the Saturday before Christmas Eve, run by a dedicated nonprofit with the civic association as sponsor. The roughly four-mile route stays inside sheltered, bridgeless canals, so neighbours watch from their own seawalls and docks. It grew out of a Peace River harbour parade that local boaters began in 1989.
