Key West Rotary has fired the island’s Independence Day show off the White Street Pier since 1976, visible along the south-shore beaches. The display usually goes up at 9:00 pm. Where to watch: From the water: fireworks fire off the end of the White Street Pier; in 2024 the Coast Guard closed all water within 800 feet of the pier from 8 to 10 pm, so anchor off the south shore outside that ring. Ashore: Higgs Beach and the beaches either side of the pier (the pier itself closes all day).
