St. Croix’s Independence Day display lights up the Frederiksted waterfront after a sunset beach party by Fort Frederik. The display usually goes up at about 8:00 pm. Where to watch: From the water: the open roadstead off Frederiksted, anchored clear of the pier (cruise-ship berth) and Fort Frederik Beach; older coverage has the show launched beyond the tip of the pier. Ashore: Fort Frederik Beach and the Frederiksted waterfront, with music and vendors from mid-afternoon. No published Coast Guard safety zone found.
