A long-running Emerald Coast pirate festival in which a costumed krewe ‘invades’ Fort Walton Beach from the water and claims the city for a long weekend. The weekend includes a skirmish, fireworks over the sound and a Monday-night torchlight parade.
- On the water: The Krewe of Bowlegs’ pirate landing: Captain Billy Bowlegs and the krewe come ashore from the sound to ‘capture’ the city and mayor. On Friday a scouting party arrives by water for a skirmish, and fireworks go up over Santa Rosa Sound.
