Dates for next year’s Mix-Up Regatta have been announced. The 4th edition of the popular regatta will take place May 12-14 out of Sandy Ground. Last year, the regatta added a late flourish to an already busy Caribbean racing season. For registration information etc, go to www.anguillaregatta.com


The AYC has exchanged burgees with the Porto Rotondo Yacht Club, Sardinia, Italy at the Porto Rotondo Regatta, where yachts Mariella and Luciaplaced 1st and 3rd Respectively in the Vintage Bermudian Class.

St Maarten

The St Maarten Yacht Club is hosting this month’s Women’s Caribbean One Design Keelboat Championship, held Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th on Simpson Bay Lagoon.

Up to 16 teams will compete in the fleet of Jeanneau Sun Fast 20s, with racing divided into Gold and Silver Fleets after a round robin qualifying series.

This will be the fourth edition of the event. Current holders are team Latitude 18 from Tortola, skippered by Emma Paul.

St John

The 24th Annual Coral Bay Thanksgiving Regatta in St John takes place this month, on Friday 25 and Saturday 26. Single Handed and Gaff-Rigged boats will race on the Friday, with all classes doing battle on the Saturday. Registration and Skipper’s Meeting is at 9am on Friday, at Skinny Legs.

Trinidad & Tobago

The TTSA Race Season once again gets underway in November, off the beautiful, exotic shores of Carriacou, Grenada. Despite the heartbreaking predicament of Hurricane Ivan, T&T sailors and crew still ventured off last November to show their support. All sponsorship funds were donated towards the Grenada Sailing Association.

This year, the CCS Committee offers even more. The race courses have been redesigned to facilitate requests and suggestions made by racers. So, expect more exciting courses. The after race-day events have also been enhanced to ensure that everyone gets a little closer by the end of the weekend. The facility at Tyrell Bay has been revamped in order to provide a more comfortable Regatta site.

The Skipper’s Briefing will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday November 9th followed by three fun, yet challenging days of racing; Thursday 10th to Saturday 12th with the PrizeGiving Party early enough on Saturday November 12th to guarantee that all participants could attend and receive their attractive prizes.
