Bequia: 25th anniversary Easter
Regatta April 13th – April 17th

Based on last year’s record
70-plus boats, the Bequia Sailing Club is expecting to draw yachts from all
over the Region as well as Europe and the USA for the Easter Regatta. The new
J24 class may provide the largest-ever gathering of this growing class in the
southern Caribbean.

Racing in
the local fleet for the first time in many years will be
Iron Duke, the newly restored 130-year-old Bequia whaleboat brought
from New England by whaling legend “Old Bill” Wallace in the late
19th century.

from the sailing action, there will also be the traditional Lower Bay beach
splash on Easter Sunday with Sandcastle Competition and Crazy Craft race, plus
numerous shore activities for all ages under the Almond Tree in Port Elizabeth
on Easter Monday.

Fajardo New Yacht Club formed in January

The Club Nautico De Fajardo was
launched by 36 sailors who met on January 19, 2006 at the Isleta Marina
facilities in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. A team of experts
with more than 60 years of experience including Bob Fisher, Chuck Lyman and
Angel Ayala gathered to provide pointers and support as the group

A new
Club House, social activities, family picnics, Sunday regattas and contract
instructors for young people are all in the planning stages. All sailors are
welcome and those interested in membership are invited to contact the
