Catch the largest kingfish and win $3000. The Northside Sportfishing Club is pleased to announce this new top prize for the 2019 Bastille Day Kingfish Tournament. The Tournament – the inshore fishing event that offers over $13,000 in prizes and attracts more participants than any other of its kind in the U.S. Virgin Islands – will take place on Sunday July 14, 2019, at Hull Bay Hideaway.

Mark your calendars now! Registration starts July 8 at Neptune Fishing Supplies in Red Hook, St. Thomas. On July 12th at 7:30 p.m., the Captain’s Meeting takes place at Hull Bay Hideaway where sports fishermen can also register. Late registration will be on July 13, from Noon to 6 p.m. at the Hideaway. Fishing starts at 5:30 a.m. on July 14, with weigh-in at Noon. Festivities throughout the afternoon include food, drink, a great line-up of bands and children’s activities. The Awards Ceremony starts at 8 p.m. on July 14 at Hull Bay Hideaway.

Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, entry fees are low – $45 for adults, $35 for juniors ages 8 to 17. Registered anglers will receive an official Bastille Day Kingfish Tournament T-shirt, hat, goodie bag and more.

Prize categories include: Largest Kingfish, 2nd Largest Kingfish, 3rd Largest Kingfish, 4th Largest Kingfish, Best Captain, Best Boat, Best Male Angler, Best Female Angler, Best Junior Male Angler, Best Junior Female Angler, Largest Barracuda, Largest Bonito and Largest Mackerel.

The Northside Sportfishing Club first organized the Bastille Day Kingfish Tournament in 1987. St. Thomas, specifically the Tournament, was named as one of the Top 10 destinations in the world to celebrate Bastille Day, by online travel advisor, Hotwire.com. Additionally, the Club was named Best Sports Organization of the Virgin Islands on St. Thomas for 2016, 2017 and 2019, in the Virgin Islands Daily News ‘Best of the VI’ reader’s poll.

Proceeds from the Bastille Day Kingfish Tournament this year will benefit the Joseph Sibilly School, Nana Baby Children’s Home, St. Thomas Rescue and the St. Thomas Civil Air patrol, as well as provide college scholarships.
