Who do you call when something goes wrong when cruising in the British Virgin Islands? VISAR, or Virgin Islands Search & Rescue, an independent, volunteer-based, non-profit organization funded almost entirely by charitable donations. In April, MarineMax Vacations donated $4,600 to support VISAR. A subsidiary of Clearwater, Florida-headquartered MarineMax, this fast-growing charter company operates with a fleet of over 40 Aquila power catamarans in the BVI.

“My team helps people to plan their dream vacation in an exotic location,” says Raul Bermudez, vice president of MarineMax Vacations’ charter division. “VISAR provides peach of mind to our charter guests. Should anything go wrong, they can dial 767 or SOS on a standard dialing pad to connect to someone for help.” www.marinemax.com/vacations, visar.org
