The Neptune Sailing Club Solo Race

The ‘Solitaire’ in Fort de France took place on Saturday, 11 November. Organized by the Neptune Sailing Club, the record was broken this year with 27 boats entered. With a light 10 to 12 knot breeze blowing, Jean Pascal Aigrault imposed himself in the largest class (Spinnaker), aboard Filmax. It was in this same class that a surprising phenomenon became apparent: not even a 100th of a second could separate the two fastest boats, Guilhem Bessie on the Delph 28 ‘Agoue’ and Richard Campmas on the Gibsea 414 ‘Madinina Wear’. Claude Vatran, race officer, had never witnessed this in his career.

The two winners were forced to share the trophy, apart from an arm-wrestling contest won by Guilhem Bessie!

Spinnaker results :

1er :                      Guilhem Bessie – AGOUE ( winner of the trophy according to arm wrestle)
1er ex aequo :       Richard Campmas – MAININA WEAR
3ème :                 Arthur Villain – WIND (Surprise)

Non-spinnaker results :

1er :                      Jean Pascal Aigrault – FILMAX (First Class Europe)
2ème :                   Albert – MACABOU (Kelt 6.20)
3ème :                   Jean Patrick Socias – GLAZIG (First Class 8)
