A rebranding launch for The Moorings has expanded travel options for sail, power and crewed charter yacht vacations for the 2014 year. This is an overall effort to incorporate the company’s heritage into a fresh identity for today’s customer. The revised new logo reflects the importance of The Moorings’ beginnings and establishment in 1969. Additionally, new destinations in the Mediterranean have opened in three different locations. The website has undergone the same rebranding process to accommodate these updates as well as provide guests with an easy-access layout to efficiently choose the vacation suited to their personal taste.

“This is an exciting milestone for The Moorings because we’re not only adding new bases, adding the 514 powercat and changing the look, we’re fully incorporating what this company is built upon—a love for sailing,” said Shannan Brennan, Head of Global Marketing for The Moorings. “We want to build upon our heritage while continuing to make sure our customers are at the center of everything we do.”

An Endearing Heritage

The Moorings brand would be nothing without its heritage—something we want to make known to our customers. Founded in 1969 by sailing enthusiast Charles ‘Charlie’ Cary and his wife Ginny, the company was, and continues to be, strongly rooted in discovering the joy a boating vacation can bring. The Carys formed the initial fleet of yachts in the British Virgin Islands with six Pearson sailboats and a dream for others to create their own memories at sea. Today The Moorings has expanded from the BVI to encompass an array of global destinations plus the choice of a crewed or powerboat vacation in addition to bareboat sailing; all because one couple had a love for the sea and a desire to share the possibilities from the deck of a boat.

New Bases, New Boats

The Mediterranean is opening up with three new locations: Kremik, Fethiye and Vounaki. Our base in Kremik provides travelers with a central point-of-access along the Adriatic Coast in Croatia to reach nearby islands and coastal villages throughout the Dalmatian cruising area. From the Turkish base of Fethiye customers are a short trip away from historic Byzantine sites, winding bazaars, and prime sailing conditions. More of the Mediterranean can be found at the third new base in Vounaki, Greece, popular for its smooth cruising passages and seaside towns.

For vacations in the British Virgin Islands, a new 514 Powercat has been introduced to The Moorings’ fleet. The yacht, a specifically designed product of Robertson and Caine, features a sleek build and spacious interior with a wide saloon, extensive flybridge and large forward cockpit. The four-cabin vessel carries the tradition of high power performance standards while still being fuel-efficient during passages.

Website Rebranding

The rebranding process extends into The Moorings’ website, moorings.com, and will make searching for and planning a yacht charter vacation even easier than before. Visitors will have all the updated information on our new destinations and yachts along with essential facts about sailing, power and crewed options. The new look makes online maneuverability simple while providing important details, including weather conditions, local attractions and sample itineraries, about the yachting experience.

Commitment to Our Customers

Even as The Moorings moves ahead with new additions and an updated appearance, the overall commitment to our customers remains the same: to create lasting memories at sea. Because a voyage at sea would be nothing if not for those on deck.
