‘Being the best at managing tourism well for the long-term benefit of the destination, local people and visitors’ is what earned Jus’ Sailing, a day charter operation based out IGY’s Rodney Bay Marina in St. Lucia, the Caribbean Travel Organization’s (CTO) 2019 Community Benefit Award. This award, and seven others, were presented in August during the CTO’s Caribbean Conference on Sustainable Tourism Development, held in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

“We have worked very hard over the past eight years to develop our youth training program in the off season. This program assists disadvantaged unemployed youth to gain valuable experience, skills and certifications that help them obtain employment in the marine and wider tourism sector here in Saint Lucia. We are proud to have many of our graduates in most of the island’s day charter boat companies, marinas, boat yard and other tourism businesses,” says James Crockett, Jus’ Sail’s captain of good expectation and managing director. “Winning this award inspires us to keep going and hopefully it inspires others to invest resources, however small or large, in developing the youth of our islands into assets for the regions essential maritime industry.”  Jussail.com
