The 38th annual BVI Spring Regatta and Sailing Festival, March 30 – April 5, 2009,  could not work without the support of the local community and every year more local businesses involve themselves with the community’s largest sporting event. This highly anticipated event not only entertains, but also plays a significant role in the BVI economy as the week attracts more off-island visitors and dollars to the local community than any other sporting event throughout the year.   New to the fold for the 2009 event are Victor International, developers and owners of Oil Nut Bay and North Sound Yacht Club on Virgin Gorda and International Motors, offering new and pre owned automobile, parts, service and rentals.   Returning for a second year is Meridian Construction Company, specializing in marine works, pilings, structural steel erection and general construction.

For the 2009 BVI Spring Regatta Victor International will provide their 130′ mega yacht, Resolute, to be used as the VIP boat during the Regatta.   Guests, including government officials, sponsors and selected press will be treated to this luxury viewing platform which has all of the amenities.

“We are honored to accept the invitation to provide the VIP boat for the BVI Spring Regatta and to be a part of one of the Caribbean’s great regattas,” said David V. Johnson, Chairman, Victor International.  "Oil Nut Bay, Biras Creek Resort and the North Sound Yacht Club, all part of Victor International Corporation, are all proud to be members of the BVI community."

Also stepping up to the plate for the first time is International Motors who will be providing transportation for the representative for the Sailors for the Sea organization and visiting press.   Meridian Construction, is for the second year, supplying much needed man power and expertise to help set up and tear down the Regatta Village  at Nanny Cay.
