The launch of a free at-home learning program in March, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, easily doubles as a resource for cruisers who are home-schooling. The Les Fruits de Mer now offers its Amuseum@Home, which shares several fun learning resources daily via social media and the organization’s website (www.lesfruitsdemer.com/resources). Examples are an eBook about pond birds, a set of coloring pages and a short documentary film about flamingos on St. Martin.

“Whether you are living here or visiting, there simply aren’t a lot of great resources about local nature and heritage, especially for kids. We help kids discover how amazing this place is and make them curious to learn more. That’s something that kids can use all the time,” says Mark Yokoyama, co-founder of Les Fruits de Mer, a non-profit Grand Case, St. Martin-based association which promotes ecology and culture through inspiration and education.
