Dress Up and Enjoy the Carnival of the Marina Casa de Campo

On Saturday, February 25 The Marina Casa de Campo was painted yellow and colora’o! creating an evening where joy, color, magic, costumes and people were protagonists of the first installment of the Carnival of the Navy, which was a success and was attended by over 1,500 people.

The carnival parade was composed of the Guloyas, the stilts of Villa Francisca, Diablos de La Vega, Ali-baba Band of San Carlos, the Empire of Birds, The Dragons, the Roba la Gallina y los Tiznaos de Villa Consuelo, the parade “For the Love of Carnival of the famous Margarita among others. The local troupes were represented by Las Cañeras de Miguel Cotes y los Súper Toros of La Romana designed by Ricardo Bello strolling the Avenue De La Marina, Windward Road and Paseo Del Mar. The parade ended with a party at the Plaza Portofino enlivened by Marcos Caminero orchestra sponsored by Brugal & Co., C. by A.

The organization of the carnival was in charge of El Comité del Carnaval de La Marina, a group of people, mostly born and raised in La Romana that came together to work on the development of a Carnival Party that had the support of the Casa de Campo Marina. This committee is headed by Ricardo Bello, Dagoberto Tejeda and Vilma Nuñez, Marketing Manager of the Marina Casa de Campo.

The main objective of this initiative is to express an important part of national culture, placing the Dominican Carnival an international platform for high-end tourism. At the same time the committee proposed to provide the people of elegant space to enjoy their national identity.

This year’s Carnival was dedicated to Marina Guloyas, Cultural Heritage of Humanity, which the Committee received the recognition given to their president, Ramon Araujo.

The event was covered by the Circuito Micheli radio, television and the media locally and nationally.

The event had the support of major national and international companies such as Brugal & Co., C. por A. Sanz Trailers, Restaurante Chinois, Inversiones Bastillas del Caribe, Grupo Peperoni, Marine Trader Services, Restaurante Limoncello, ERH Marine, Restaurante La Casita de La Marina, Studio Fini, Coca Cola, among others.

For next year’s Carnival Marina, besides the great parade, ran out an agenda for a month with various activities, which are, Decorated Boat Parade of Carnival, Carnival of Children Parade House Comparsa, Carnival Pets, among others.
