Quarter Deck Marina Upgrade

British Virgin Islands, North Sound – As of late Spring 2011, the Bitter End Yacht Club's Quarter Deck Marina will have a stunning new look.

"Nature played a hand in the form of Hurricane Earl," said John Glynn, V.P. for North American Sales and Bitter End International. Glynn said that thanks to the storm they were able to create a facility that is more user friendly for the type of boats that visit North Sound.

Although they have added only three extra docks, the state-of the art facility can now take a wider variety of boats including sports fishing boats and catamaran cruisers.

The facility is already a regular port of call for the famous J-Yachts Valsheda and Ranger. "They like the location," explained Glynn. He added that they enjoyed all the toys, the safety, the ease of getting people back and forth to Beef Island airport, and the camaraderie of other yacht crews.

Eight yachts of up to 150ft can be accommodated. At least 12 of the slips are in 10ft of water and eight of the slips can take boats with drafts of 15ft or more.

The L-dock at the Bitter End Yacht Club will also be refurbished, continuing to supply berths for four megayachts up to a length of 235ft.

"We plan to celebrate the opening of the marina over the Memorial Day weekend, said Glynn. "But we will be taking reservations long before then."
