The 3rd Mix Up Regatta, organized by the Anguilla
Sailing Association takes place next month, May 6 to 8. A strong field of
entrants from Anguilla and neighbouring islands is expected, as well as the
local heroes on the famous Anguillan wooden sloops.
One or two things going on in Antigua this month. First up
is the 10th Mega Yacht challenge from the 8th to 10th.
Hot on its heels is the Classic Yacht Regatta, one of the highlights of the
Caribbean racing season, from the 14th to 19th. On the 21st,
the Guadeloupe Race provides the big guns with their warm up for Antigua
Sailing Week, 24th to 30th. With four huge events in a
month, there’s nowhere else to be in April.
Bitter End Yacht Club, celebrating its 30th
Anniversary this year, will be holding the popular ClubSwan Caribbean
Rendezvous from April 4 to 9. Now in its third year, the Swan rendezvous is the
region’s premier cruising event for Swan owners. Contact Jennifer Hall for

T&T Sailing Association
Young T&T sailors did the TTSA proud in February’s 17th
Semaine Nautique de Schoelcher Regatta. Matthew Schoener Scott took first place
overall in the Optimist Class, out of a total of 57 international competitors.
Anthony Alkins placed sixth, Annick Lewis 17th and Charles Barcant
Alan Alkins placed
5th in the 21-strong Laser Radial Class, while debutant Aaron
Barcant placed 11th in the Laser Class.
