If you are looking for a powerboat perfect for the tourism market, check out the Hurricane Hunter.  Designed by the team at Offshore Marine, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, this boat is ready to rock with a proven tour boat setup.

The All At Sea Team went out for a run with Abrie Cilliers, owner of Offshore Marine.  We found a well thought-out design with a very specific goal in mind for passengers: having fun with lots of people in a fast, stable and dry environment with plenty of shade. Two big integrated swim ladders make for easy boarding after swimming, snorkeling or diving.

For readers who have not had experience with a rigid inflatable design, there are several benefits.  Pontoons add a lot of beam and floatation to the boat, creating a very stable platform at rest as well as underway in rougher sea conditions, a feature that amateurs and pros alike love.  The pontoons also act as shock absorbers, transferring a lot of the vibration into the pontoon instead the passengers’ bodies.  They also block most of the spray giving an extremely dry ride.

The biggest asset of this design is the amount of space.  The layout includes bench seats surrounding the cockpit with 29 individual lockers with storage compartments.  Guests will like this as they do not need to comingle their gear.  Include a large chain locker and innovative life jacket storage in the bimini and this boat is set.

Combine all these features with a pair of Yamaha 250hp Four-stroke outboards and you will have a boat that is not only fuel-efficient but also extremely reliable—and one that will give you many hours of continuous service.
