SIMPSON BAY MARINA BOAT SHOW SCHEDULE –  Simpson Bay Marina will be promoting it’s facilities and St. Maarten at several major boat shows between now and the end of March.      In February, Simpson Bay Marina will be showing at the huge Miami International Boat Show from the 15th to 19th at the Miami Beach Convention Center.  From March 23-25, we will be at the brand new San Juan Convention Center for the 2nd Annual Puerto Rico International Boat Show.  We hope to see many of our friends and clients at these various venues. Simpson Bay Marina staff just returned from the 9th Annual Caribbean Boat Show held at Puerto del Rey Marina in Fajardo, Puerto Rico.

HEADING TO THE USVI OR BVI?Simpson Bay Marina has three excellent affiliate marinas in the U.S. and British Virgins and can confirm reservations in  advance before you leave St. Maarten.  These include Village Cay Marina-Hotel at Road Town, Tortola, Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour, plus American Yacht Harbour in St. Thomas at Red Hook (East End).  For additional details, check out www.sunresorts.biz

NEED EXPERIENCED DAYWORKERS? There are many experienced day workers available in St. Maarten to assist our clients with the myriad of chores on board.  Unlike many other facilities, Simpson Bay Marina does not put a surcharge on dayworker daily rates but simply helps our clients find a suitable and trustworthy helper.  Contact our dockmaster’s office for assistance.

UPGRADED SHOWERS, TOILETS  We know these two items are foremost among many of our clients for marina necessities and  we want you to know they are top priority with our staff and management as well.  We have recently upgraded them with new tile and replacement controls plus a greater frequency of maintenance staff visits.   Maintaining showers and toilets, even with security controls is not an easy task, so we also must also rely on our clients to let us know  when something is amiss.

WATT’S HAPPENING? –   Every year our demand for electrical services increases considerably and we spend a major part of the off-season getting ready too meet the requirements of the next season.  The demand is not entirely from the mega yacht sector as one might expect, but also includes all types of yachts at Simpson Bay Marina.  We are continuing to install upgraded service pedestals and now offer power services ranging up to 100- amp, three- phase 480 volt , 60hz service.

PROVISIONING SERVICE IN FULL SWING! – If our provisioning service can’t find what you’re looking for on your shopping list, chance’s are it’s just not available.  Headed up by Danielle (Danny) de Vries and assisted by Bertrand Petit, they offer an outstanding priority provisioning service featuring both local and internationally sourced  gourmet delights.  Check them out in their office next to the Simpson Bay Marina dock master office. Call them at 599-544-2309 extension 46. Cellular is 599-520-3336.

The marina is the St. Maarten distribution point for complimentary copies of  All At Sea, First Mate, Crew Life, Yacht Report, Crew Report, Dockwalk, Dock Talk, Caribbean Compass, La Regata (Spanish language marine monthly), The Triton and Land Falls and are all available by the security station at the marina’s main dock entrance.  In addition, there is an abundance of additional local information including local guides plus restaurant and shopping information.
